Gesture pain heat exchangers are crucial in improving overall efficiency and performance. It works by transferring heat between two fluids without mixing them directly. The hotter the air is, the better the energy output will be. This is where the heat exchangers come in to improve the power output. Though it wastes some energy, the overall production outweighs the loss, so that’s not a big issue.

Additionally, two types of exchangers are used in gas turbines: recuperators and intercoolers. The recuperator captures the waste heat from the exhaust gases and transfers it back to the combustor. This preheats the air entering the combustor, reducing the fuel needed to achieve the desired combustion temperature. On the other hand, intercoolers cool down the compressed air between the compressor’s stages, generating heat. The air is cooled at every stage, increasing the air density for the next stage. It makes the compressor work more robustly and delivers more air mass to the combustor.

Using heat exchangers, there is less fuel usage to achieve the same output level as the fuel. It is effective in cutting fuel costs without compromising on output. Moreover, there are fewer emissions of heat and pollutants formation in the combustion process. Furthermore, the gas turbine heat exchanger operates under high-temperature conditions, which demands special attention to the material used in its production. So, strategically improve the efficiency and output of the gas turbine cycle with heat exchangers.
